I won't tell.              The Sales records tell...they tell the industry NOT to stop producing those       'old fashioned' instruments!              > ha.              > Of course gredy capitalists like Dr Moog want to ruin the world for money.       > That's what they do, make cool things that other people want enough to       > buy. That's the sad shape ofthe world, we'll just have to live with it.              Jim              The problem is that somehow those characters think everyone should just give       up all the other instruments they Love and only buy theirs!       They should be satisfied that musicians buy their products considering that       the number one keyboard is the piano, including it's variant, the electric       piano, next is the organ, then clavinet and other sonically rich polyphonic       keyboards. And remember, synthesizers used to be only monophonic, which       limited to either melody lines, or arpeggios. Sure it's fun to play with the       myriad controls to see what wild new sounds can be...synthesized...but not       even that could ever replace primary 'arsenal' instruments, no matter how       much an overzealous merchant might wish.              So really it all comes down to being that just because something may be       useful, that in no way means that it will replace other things just as if       not even more useful. It's like the sitar...I knew a couple of guys, a       father and son, who owned a company that made stamped steel baskets for       loudspeakers who both played sitars and Loved them...but why should that       mean that everyone who currently plays stringed instruments should give them       up and play sitars? And I understand sitars are quite challenging to learn       which means that the comment about people not wanting to go to all the       trouble to learn something new could also be applied to learning how to play       the sitar.              It's still about Personal Preferences and Respecting those Choices!              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
