Doesn't have to be too loud to be good.

It's called to each their own.

Big monitors make big sound, and not only for the performers to hear either.

   > Or, go old school and place the main cabs where BOTH the performer and the

And forget about all the extra hauling too!
I like monitors too, only I don’t see why they should have to be so
   oversized.

Maybe she looks at it like I do, that anything stuck into the ears has Got
to work well, and comfortably ;)

   > If you like near fields, cool. How does that work on a decent sized stage
   > ? Do you sit ? Or glue your feet to one spot on the floor ?

Yes, I do sit, I'm not into dancing around when I'd much rather just let my
fingers dance on the keys ;)
But in any case, small efficient, accurate reproduction monitors are a good
   idea.

At least wi-fi instrument connections do prevent the tangling of the "black
   spaghetti".

From the reports I've heard, the G30 is pretty awesome.

   > IEM's ... and forget about where they are positioned or aimed. That's
   > really the solution. Solo work, I don't need monitors. With they duo, we

Since you're using them already, how do the IEMs feel?

   > WIth the band, they are a necessity. Big old floor wedges aren't the

I never considered only singing - I enjoy playing when I do it far too much
   )

Around 3K and somewhat up from there is a very common one.

I'm glad I've got my earplugs with me!
