Kind of like Matching the gear to the venue - what a Radical concept ;)

   > You hit on exactly the problem with big monitors ... they swamp the stage

And that plus overcranking seem to always go together, because they have a
couple of things in common, Immaturity and Stupidity!

   > Our other guitar guy obviously has a hearing problem. He knows it, we all

Wouldn't be surprising at all...just so long as they don't get to adjust the
   levels.

   > I've done that the last several gigs. I don't really care, but it is kinda

I just feel more comfortable playing when I'm sitting at the keys...although
it's not the best position for singing. Oh well, I'll adapt, like so many
other singing keyboard players do ;)

   > Slide switches pick the channels. One is on 6, the other 5. No reason,

Just so long as it all works ;)

   > We dropped a mic at rehearsal today. Its ball / screen spit in two and

I hope it still works otherwise.

I've heard about doing that, but so far, I've never had the need to, thank
   God!

   > Using IEM's in one ear is bad.

   I'll bet!

Yep, unbalanced is OFF balance ;)

They sure sound interesting and even though I don't like anything stuck in
my ears, I'd still like to try them anyway.

   > A few more tunes, and she was distracted. Said, she was thinking about

   > want some :-) Stuff should be here tomorrow.

I can't wait for our duo to take off because I need to buy some gear too,
   starting with a Nord C2D organ ;)

   > This will give her and I each a nice wireless IEM setup, and the drummer

   > in the US, the 600mhz will be illegal to use in two years. No point buying
   > another one on that freq range.

I seriously doubt that in practical terms, the 600 mHz output power will
cause any problems that could generate complaints and investigations.

   > So there it is. We're about to be IEM's, except for the other guitar guy.
   > I really doubt he'll buy any. That's ok. He can use a wedge over on his
   > end of the stage.

Personally, literally, I still prefer the very small monitor setup.

   > The reasoning was .... I'm trying to get the stage level down for me, and
   > In Ears do that. They block the stage level some and still let me hear

That is the idea so whatever works is most likely the way to go.

   > Band girl is center stage, no monitors close her, drums to her rear and
   > our one stage amp to her other side. She can't hear well at all. So IEM's

   > everything else. No wires to trip over.

Definitely sounds like something for me to try!

   > This is all band talk. Yet, it'll apply to our duo work also. Once we get
   > used to hearing well, it's liable to become standard. Certainly will for
   > me. I'm really tired of loud pa cabs or wedges. We rehearsed from about 10
   > am until 7 pm, and you know what ???? My ears aren't ringing or hurting.
   > Imagine that :-)

   Jim

   That's Awesome, isn't it!
And speaking of which, I've got some rehearsing to do tonight myself.
