If we really wanted to be doing something else, we       > would be.              It's more a matter of that we're *trying* to achieve what we seek, but the       success factor often involves lots of time and struggle because this being a       Fallen world, *dysfunction* is the primary characteristic, meaning that some       things don't work at all and even the ones that do don't work right, or not       as well as they should. In other words, not everyone chooses misfortune.              > My issue with the drugs was that when one of them wrecked the bus, I'd be       > in it too. Or when they got us arrested at a border crossing, or some       > party, not only would I be arrested also, the band would suddenly not be       > working.              That's because Immature, Irresponsible, Stupid people are Always Dangerous -       not only to themselves, but also to Anyone close enough to be hurt by the       Stupid things they do, and it's Definitely Not limited to drugs, in can       involve Anything.              > Just having dopers around is a huge risk, whether you personally indulge       > or not. I didn't, generally. That wouldn't have matter to the law.              The risk is that someone, or more, will be Stupid...same thing with gamblers       congregating for some favorite event of theirs - there's always the risk of       getting robbed.              > Skirting the edge of stories that are tellable, I know of one place that       > was raided by the feds, and which was knee deep in serious drugs. Some       > went to federal prison over that. I was just a guitar player, and luckily       > was in the club when it was raided.              Now That particular situation is Purely a matter of Political       Persecution...and a Blatant Violation of the Constitution!       Our Bill Of Rights' Ninth Amendment Clearly protects those Rights retained       by the people, including the Personal ingesting of various substances! And       Article I Section 8, Paragraph 17 Limits the authority of the federal       government so that the States retain their Sovereignty, which is also       protected by the Bill Of Rights' Tenth Amendment!              > He didn't do anything, the people who want his songs found him. He's a       > happy guy with a real business.              A real Music business?              > No desire to be a broke long hair hippee in a van.              Why should someone be broke simply for being a long haired hippie?       People like that made the greatest Music of all time, and that's the reason       for my getting into it and teaching myself to play.              > That, btw, is what his dad told him back a long time ago.              It figures, it figures! My father used to say things like that to us kids       all the time, trying to get us disinterested in rock & roll - happily, it       didn't work ;) But then it never had a chance in the first place,       particularly in my case!              > That he'd end up that if he didn't bail on the music and get a real job.       > He took his dad's advice.              He should have went with the Music, and make That his REAL JOB!!!              > as a religious person, do you kind of recognize the similarity in your       > rebellion and the story of the Garden of Eden ?              Adam and Eve rebelled against God, but I rebel against man, in other words,       against Adam and Eve and the Vile Establishment they founded!!!       What similarity could there possibly be in that?              > yep, splat. it is interesting that sometimes, very rarely, people survive       > chutes not opening.              There was one story about a tail gunner in an Avro Lancaster bomber, who       after he had to bail out after being blasted by night fighters, watched his       'chute go up in flames before he could attach it to his harness, but jumped       out anyway rather than burn to death, fell 18,000 feet, and lived.       Then there was a more recent story, about a flight attendant being sucked       out of her airliner when a breach in the fuselage caused a section of it to       blow out. I think she was at an altitude of over 30,000 feet and blacked out       from low oxygen content while falling but came to in time to contact huge       evergreen trees which absorbed her impact so well that she was able to walk       to a nearby hotel and call her airline to let them know that she had       survived and was okay, though later, when they finally did check her out at       a local hospital, it was discovered that her pelvis had been fractured -       pretty awesome way to survive what would have in any other case, been       certain death.              make you feel my love.              Jim              I have to admit that I'm not familiar with that one ;) But I'll check it       out. Thanks for letting me know.              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
