From: someone@anywheret.net              "JimD" wrote in message news:2017032110290720512-email@nowherecom...              > the bill line item was actually " humane feline euthanasia "              I don't recall ever seeing such a thing for a hospice.       And "euthanasia" if merely the euphemistic term for Killing.       And 'humane' still has the word *human* in it, and history bears grim       witness to what humans have done, and the latest 'news' bears the same kind       of witness to what they continue to do...even to their own kind, and much       worse to nonhuman creatures, so I'm not the least bit impressed!              > It didn't say " shot in the top of the head with a pistol ", or " left to       > die along the path as the tribe moved on ", or " put out in the pasture       > to starve ", or " let outside so she could either freeze to death or some       > preditor could eat her ".              Must it always be extremes?              > It also didn't say " watched her slowly starve over the last few days       > because she couldn't eat or drink due to her systems shutting down ". Or       > maybe is was a stroke. Or undiagnosed throat cancer. Or some infection       > she simply couldn't fight off due to her very advanced age. Who knows.              My parents used to tell me about the dog they had before I was born, a       German shepherd named "Rex", who was advanced in age, was somewhat lame, and       had become blind...so they decided to have him Killed - the story was       sickening, the 'vet' injected him with the lethal drug, not sure what it       was, but the dog simply refused to die, preferring instead to cling to life       and fight, even though lame and blind, so he received another shot, and       several more, and still refused to die. The 'vet' said he had the heart of a       lion and there was even the suggestion of 'finishing him off' with a gunshot       to the head, but he finally weakened, slumped over, lost his fight, and left       this world, AGAINST HIS WILL TO LIVE!!!       Makes me Sick every time I think about it, and I don't even particularly       like German shepherds...I've had too many negative encounters with them,       often while riding my bike...but that still doesn't make doing such things       right, and NEVER WILL!!!              > Personally, I'd have opted for a shot to her head. Reason being, that       > would have been the hardest on me personally. For some reason I think I       > need to learn to do things like that, so that in our coming civil war, I       > won't be as upset at death up close and personal. Letting a vet       > anesthetize her first seems the woose way out. She didn't even feel the       > later drug.              If you could 'train' yourself to do that, you could also 'train' yourself to       work in a slaughterhouse!              > And not personally taking my two hands and twisting her neck to break it       > .......              It's only a matter of degree.              > How would any of those nobile and guilt free options have been any better       > for the cat ? Would any of those have gotten her a better spot in cat       > heaven ?              ----              I know of only one noble and guilt free option...stay with the creature and       help them with their instinct to fight to stay alive, while dealing with       their pain to eliminate or at least reduce it as much as possible, because       I've yet to encounter ANY nonhuman creature that would rather die than live!       There's an old saying, that Where there's Life, there's Hope...it was said       by humans yet so many of them give up on Life, and Hope, but NOT the       nonhumans...because they'll fight to the end...even if it doesn't look like       they're fighting because they're so extremely debilitated!              > hey, all that stuff above is kind of harsh.              Think so? Kind of? ;)              > Sorry 'bout that, it's early and I'm stll a bit upset of yesterdays band       > rehearsal.              Sort of like 'euthanizing' the Vibe, huh ;)       Nirvana anyone?       How about Sonic YouthInAsia? ;)       Now my grim sense of 'humor' is coming through ;)              > I did type it all out tho, and decided not to erase it. Why bother. I       > have to wonder if you've had many pets die of some incurable condition.              I had a bunny that ingested sharp metal bits and it sliced her up       internally, but that was what killed her.              > Probably you have. But who knows. It's hard for me to grasp how you'd       > prefer they suffer.              I'd prefer their suffering, rather than their life, be ended!!!              > Maybe that's some religious belief you have. Maybe it's a fear of your       > own death, and how that will be handled.              > Who knows.              No, I don't fear death, but would prefer to Live first before it happens,       and it's the pain and suffering so often related to death that worries me.              > I've got songs to work on today. Need to decide whether to continue down       > the midi path or try to do a break and go to audio only " stems " in my       > backing tracks. Clearly, that isn't possible. I still like the doing the       > keyboard parts in midi. It's that guitar sections that need to be audio.                     Jim              I was watching some You Tube videos of new material, and several of them       used those 'tracks' - really weird seeing someone singing and playing an       acoustic guitar in their room and the sounds of other players, but no sight       of them....and that's only a recording, which just happens to include a       video. I just don't know how anyone can get away with calling that a 'live'       performance at some venue!              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
