Doesn't sound like an ILS localizer then.
What's the name of the nearest airport with airline activity in your area?

They're probably only approach paths because ILS localizers are on the very
same heading as the airport runways using the system and must remain that
way so that planes can follow it in, along with the glide slope, for a safe
landing no matter what the visibility conditions.

I've got some recognition books, and check around online, and besides, I'm
   totally into flying machines ;)

The P180's 'weird' sound is caused by the tips of its high speed props going
supersonic, which makes its audio signature really stand out. Even older
planes, specifically the Boeing Stearman, particularly those with more
powerful engines, like the 450hp engine, usually used in air shows, has the
same effect when power is applied and the revs shoot up, then you'll hear
the tips of its two bladed prop go supersonic and make the same kind of
sound, but the P180 Avanti has two five bladed props so the effect is much
   more audible.

   > good luck going clean :-)

I've been 'clean' more or less, usually more ;)

Maybe you can use them with the Steinberger when you get it ;)
But if they're subwoofers, that could be a problem ;)
