From: someone@anywheret.net              "JimD" wrote in message news:2017062714022373507-email@nowherecom...              > young people have to start sometime :-)              Thinking is not only for the young, everyone has to do it!              > Yes, but remember, you aren't in it for the dirty money, so you can be far       > more choosie about what you play              I'm in it for being successful, radio airplay, Grammys, gold, platinum,       diamond records, etc. and most of all, making The Difference!              > nah, why rehearse ? Just play what you feel, jam away. They'll love it       > :-)              Why not rehearse? That way, when we play what we feel, from the heart, with       the Love Vibe, and jam, we'll Know Exactly what we're doing!              > were you in a real country band or a " bad rock band with a fiddle player       > " ?              It was real enough for the time, but not many of the Real country tunes, and       they didn't have a fiddle or pedal steel player, or even a mandolin or       banjo, just guitars, bass, and my keys.              > So at least you do, or should, understand the huge change that lable "       > country music " has gone thru. To the point now it has completely broken       > from any roots it once had with traditional country music.              That's why I'm always saying that to be Real country, it's got to be from no       later than the '60s and before.              > Uncle Pen.              Now there's a real hillbilly tune, kind of reminds me of The Dillards as the       Darlings on The Andy Griffith Show.       How about "Ebo Walker"? EEEEE HAAAAAH!!!       Now there's some Real Country, but don't forget the Western too ;)              > One of my brothers kids did all that a few years ago. Got almost youtube       > famous. Now he's working in some retail store, or was last I heard. It       > much sound easier to get rich and famous doing that than it actually is.              Got to follow your dream and do what you Love!              > Come to think of it, I know someone else in that boat ( a hint ? ). Has       > all sorts of youtube vids and fame and is on some radio. Not making a       > penny out of it, that I know of. Weird how that works.              I wouldn't mind putting something out there, it'll help with getting       exposure.              > Interesting how the goals of youth turn out to not be such a big deal       > after all.              Depends on how serious they were in the first place.              > How many times have I sung on the Grand Ol' Opry ?              > None. Sing on the Opry, nope, but I was close. I have been on the new       > Opry stage during a live show tho. And, my band played in Opryland Park.       > It was part of auditioning for some record deal. We didn't get signed then       > tho.              What kind of material were you playing? Was it Original?              > But I know someone, the " other guy " in our band, and he really has sang       > on the Opry, over 20 times. Yep, was in real bands you'd know the names       > of. Where is he now ? In his house about 2 miles from here thinking       > about mowing the grass. Or so I'd bet.              Why the big nosedive?              > You have to take " fame " and somehow turn that into $$$, or else you'll       > be that guy your relatives say didn't make it ... didn't quite have the       > talent or something :-)              You've got to have Pure Motives first!       I've heard so may impure motives, want to be a 'rock star', 'chick magnet',       'groupies', 'rich', 'famous', etc.       I'm pursuing Pure Motives - I want our Music to be the star, and be famous,       and make The Difference and usher in a brand new interest and total revival       of rock & roll to a level even greater than when it first started, and while       I'm at it, help bring back the hippie movement, like it's never been before,       and a Genuine, Honest, Serious, and Truly Psychedelic one this time!!!       And psychedelic basically means self-manifesting, pretty much the opposite       of Depersonalization, which is more rampant now than ever before.              > Thought about interferring, didn't really. I got some peanuts in the shell       > and spread them around that area. Maybe it had a nice last meal before       > some preditor killed it.              Then need shelter to be safe from predators, most of them anyway.              > yep, he's an idiot.              Taking innocent life is worse than that!              Reminds me of a story the plant manager where I used to work with speakers       told me. That he had a nasty neighbor who liked to run cats down with his       car...until comeuppance caught up with him and he killed his last cat.              While hitting a cat at high speed, one of the poor kitty's bones broke       leaving a sharp edged surface, which subsequently punctured his front tire       and caused it to blow out, causing his car to go completely out of control       to the point where it flipped over, several times.       The bad news is that the cat didn't survive, but the good news is that       neither did the cat killer.              > It's that or stay inside or on a leash. We have laws here, you know.              Jim              Humans aren't the only animals that like to roam.       My father used to tell me about when he used to live in a suburb of Chicago       known as La Grange, which at the time actually lived up to its name, meaning       The Farm, and he and my mother had a small farm, and a horse, who was fond       of roaming about...so it was a regular event when he'd get a call from the       Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) factory to tell him that his horse was over       there grazing around and exploring, again ;)              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
