   It's the Bennington, VT Militia flag, the  oldest of the genuinely American   
   flags, without any semblance of British involvement - it's the one with the   
   "76" emblazoned upon the large canton under an arch of 11 7-point stars with   
   2 more stars at the  top on either side for a total of 13, and reverse   
   colored stripes - the outer stripes are white instead of red.
