I don't think The Beatles had a goal of being a one hit wonder ;)
And Jethro Tull were only teenagers, i.e. a 'kid band' when they were
playing serious thoroughly professional venues - I don't think their goal
was to be a one hit wonder either.

No one is saying *not* to play covers, only NOT TO GET STUCK IN THAT RUT!!!
And as for being a studio musician, I don't see where that's absolutely
necessary either. I wouldn't mind making all the connections in the process
but our *own* Original material comes FIRST!

No problem, I'm constantly arranging at church anyway ;)

Nah, but if you're like me, it could slow you down ;)
The director of Music from my church, the other keyboard player, has to have
his notation, or at least a chord chart, and he had neither for a song he
wanted to play, so yesterday, he sent me the lyrics and an MP3 of the song
and asked me if I could analyze the chords and synch them with the lyrics -
I did in a few hours and he was amazed...slowed me down though, because it's
much easier for me to just play it ;)

I was using some theory, including some observations I made for myself ;)

   The Beatles eh? ;)
   Which one?
