I'm looking for a Real SPL meter, a dedicated one, a piece of serious test
equipment, and thanks to no more Radio Shack, I don't even know where I can
go to buy one anymore, and I HATE ordering ANYthing online...too much
hassle, and in addition to that, not know what I'm getting until I get to
   find out the hard way!

I wouldn't want to go that route, with any kind of phone because I want
something that's designed for no other purpose than to be an SPL meter.

An SPL meter doesn't *need* a computer so therefore, just like with cars,
which don't *need* computers either, I don't want a computer for that any
more than I want an SPL meter that can also do spreadsheets ;)
