Weight and size matters.              But for myself, reliability matters most and I'm simply not confident enough       to rely on a computer not to freeze, glitch, experience errors, or any       other of many problems, for playing a show...they're even flakier than       musicians ;)              Or to put it another way, Simplest is Best!              > Pretty soon you'll need roadies :-)              I can't wait...to get them, not only to need them ;)              > Old rock stuff no one cares about. Some new country no one cares about.              I'm sure someone cares about them. And since most people like Crap, I'm not       all that impressed when they don't like something that challenges their       Zombie Mindlessness.              > One song was a new " country " thing, part rap, part screwing on the       > tailgate of a truck, and ( we looked it up ) the song never even cracked       > the top 40. Not doing that. Not for our crowds. Not happening.              Really? That sounds like some of that 'bro country' Crap ;)              > I could name names, but what's the point ? He picks songs that aren't       > appropriate for our venues. Get a band going and you'll learn all about       > people who do that.              I've been in enough bands, but never a dance band, and not interested in       getting into one either...because if someone wants to dance, they'll       dance...played a block party gig last Saturday and there was plenty of       dancing to our tunes....well, not really 'our' tunes but rather the setlist       tunes of the other duo we were playing with to make it a 4 piece.              > Actually, what that tells me is you're not really a singer.              Certainly not a temperamental one ;)              > Ok, maybe you sing, but being a singer is more than that. You have to care       > about your voice, and that would include not straining it by singing       > outside your range.              I don't strain once I've worked a song out. If I find myself having a       problem, I either solve the problem, or pick another song and come back to       the problem tune once I've worked the problem out.       And vocal range has some major factors, with Stress probably being number       one on the list - stress can literally prevent some persons from even       talking much less singing, it causes such severe muscle tensions, including       vocal muscles, as the literally totally inhibit the system...but learning       about and dealing with such matters can also make major differences...and       although I'm a very high-strung person, I've found techniques to cope with       its effects...because when you've gone totally hyper with stress, ANY use of       the vocal folds entails strain - even to talk.              > There are videos on youtube that talk about this stuff if you don't ( and       > you obviously don't ) believe me :-)              I've seen all kinds of videos about such things, and the fact still remains       that one size Never fits all.              > I love sounds. And so I also love the textures effects can add.              Jim              The right effect is Awesome for the Love Vibe!              Effects give additional sonic characteristics to an instrument and thus       enhance its versatility.              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
