   > Right. The so called " musician's " are putting themselves out of work.

When they Disrespect, Disregard, Neglect, and Abandon Integrity, THAT's
what'll put them out of work...and destroy Art of Music too.

   > Mine can only do what I get it to. It does nothing on its own.

Yep, and Tragically that's also what Lazy CopyCats also do - NOTHING ON
   THEIR OWN!!!
And they wonder why they feel like they 'have to' 'compete' with
computers...or DJs with MP3 players for that matter.
It's another SHAME ON THEM situation!

   > I hate out of time, out of " the groove " playing.

I'd rather use a metronome. My Fostex MR-8 MultiTracker digital recorder has
a click track and I've used it many times, and Hated it every time, because
its sound doesn't belong in ANY kind of Music...it's a Disgusting, Annoying,
Irritating sound far better suited to Noise than to Music! I don't know why
the IDIOTS who put such Crap into various systems couldn't instead provide
several *realistic* sounding drum, rimshot, block, cowbell, cymbal, and
hi-hat sounds instead of those Dumb, Unnatural, Disgusting clicks!

   > Here's the thing. THERE AREN'T ANY COMPETENT PLAYERS AVAILABLE.

That's what happens when Music isn't taken Seriously!
Competence Requires an Investment in Time and Commitment, and the MATURITY
   to see it through!

   > Normally I don't do all caps. I normally don't bother with caps at all.
   > But this was an exception.

Happens with me a LOT! ;)

   > The entire point of my post was that we'd be fine with real players. We
   > just don't know of any here, now, available, and lastly reliable.

So Painfully well I know how that goes...they'd rather be 'rock stars' than
Serious...what a Tragedy...and they actually expect to play gigs!

   > We all know people like that, apparently.

That's because they're everywhere, like so much More FECES!!!

That's why I'm so Blessed to have my SoulMate! I don't know what I'd do
without him, don't even want to think about it...because around here, and
probably just about everywhere else too, NO ONE ELSE is serious about
Music - they're ALL a bunch of 'rock stars', prima donnas, divas,
show-offs, and ego maniacs who think their dung doesn't stink and that
therefore they don't EVER need to rehearse, or probably even practice for
that matter...because they're 'naturally' 'great'...and are always ready to
take the stage, steal the spotlight, and the show, play like a total Train
Wreck, then take the money and run!
A Machine has more *Integrity* then they do...no wonder they feel
threatened! THEY DESERVE IT...AND THEN SOME!!!

That's why our name, The Difference, was such a natural choice, and also one
   to live up to ;)

   > Or, business could just close.

   That's what ultimately happens.

   > My computer plays what I want it to. Don't like that ? We don't care.
   > We've figured out that the only people who have a problem with this are
   > other musicians. Let them go out and do their thing. Leave us alone.
   > It's a simple thing. We don't care what other musicians think of how we
   > work. Other than talking about it here, I don't try to explain why we do
   > what we do. If others don't " get it " that's fine by me. We'll be out
   > playing, getting paid, and they can be as upset about that as they want.

   > Or, said another way, it's not my job to help them.

   Jim

I do believe these other musicians are upset because they're beginning to
feel the effects of they Laziness, for not being SERIOUS musicians! It's
catching up with them and they fear they may actually be Forced to give up
being Lazy IF they want to survive!!!

CAN'T HAPPEN SOON ENOUGH FOR ME!!!
