I can make anything I want as a " click " track in my system.              You're fortunate to have that capability!              > Hell, it could be a single piano note. Or a click. Or a drum brush sound.       > Anything. It could be a phone ringing. This stuff is way better than you       > imagine, I imagine :-)              I've never heard natural sounding clicks before.              > They don't like playing in time.              You could always just use the clicks yourself and let everyone play in time       with you.              > And they don't like playing WITH other players.              They're CRAZY!!!       I LOVE playing with other musicians - I'm a Band person!              > They like going their own way and counting on the rest of us to follow       > along.              Ego problems.              > It's not a mystery. It's simple. They aren't playing with us, they are       > just playing, and expecting us to follow them. The computer won't do that.       > And that's the rub.              They've got an excuse there, BUT, if you insist that they follow you, or       whomever is playing in time, then they have no excuse.              > I can work easily with a computer that's playing a perfect rhythm track       > ( that I made ) because I know how to stay with it. I'm not fighting it,       > or expecting it to follow me. It's really a simple concept.              Maybe the other players need personalized situations for them too ;)              > Same as in science. It's a commonly acknowledged thing that big paradigm       > shifts happen in science when the old guys that support them die off.       > New, younger scientists can then advance better, newer ideas.              Not when they're atheistic Dumbed-Down Zombies, who don't even Think!       And 'paradigm shift' is merely euphemism for DECLINE!       That's why I wrote "Paradigm Return", meaning that it's time to STOP going       in the WRONG direction, turn around 180 degrees, and go BACK in the RIGHT       direction!              Old drummers, or any old school musician that isn't about to change and       is proud of it ..... well, they'll die off someday. And then the kids       who aren't wedded to those same old ways of doing things will take       their place.              And then Everything will die off...unless you somehow believe that ZOMBIE       ROBOTS are about living!              > Talk to youn musicians now. See if you can find one that hates computers.       > Ha.              I've never bothered to ask them and they never talk about computers.              > huh. what can I say.              You already said it, that you can make clicks that sound more natural.              > We're not replacing musicians. We're adding better instruments.              How can a computer be a Musical instrument?       Part of one, but not by itself.              > Yep. You're a purist. Good luck with that.              I'll have better 'luck' with it than being an IMpurist!              > Nothing will change your mind. And that's a good thing. You should stick       > to what you believe.              You can count on that ;)              > Me tho, I'm just a working musician. I don't care what the instrumentI       > use looks like, or how it works, or if it even existed before last week.       > If it makes sounds I like, and I can use it, it's in.                     Jim              I'm always looking for *good* new sounds myself, which is why I'm using       effect pedals, and speaking of which, my Soulmate and myself played an open       mic night with the 'house band' again and everyone liked how the effects       sounded....and a band my Soulmate discovered, that he'll be playing drums       in, and also needs a keyboard player, had one of their members there at the       open mic, and he liked what he heard so now I'll probably be joining them,       which will make it a 6 piece band, and rehearsing with them this       Sunday...but I don't want to spread myself too thin - I'm kind of wiggly so       that might take some doing ;) and the guy from the band I met wants to hear       our Originals, but still I'm staying focused on developing The Difference.              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
