Ordered two new drivers.              Can you replace only the burned out part, the diaphragm/voice coil assembly?       If so, you can save a lot of money, because complete drivers i.e.       diaphragm/voice coil/magnetic motor assembly is going for between $46 and       $58 bucks apiece.              > On to life's next problem.              > Oh, and for what it's worth, today's gig went well. Maybe       > there is a problem              Jim              JBL does tend to push the proverbial 'envelope' and make those little horns       (1" dia voice coil) work awfully hard - I'd go with at least a 1 1/2" voice       coil. No wonder they burn out.              Ferrofluid is better used for protection against otherwise damaging heat in       the event of an overload, particularly in small voice coil (0.5" to 3/4")       drivers, such as tweeters, but not for continuous use...unless of course the       designer thinks that pushing the 'envelope' is okay - it's NOT!              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
