   I've never used a mic preamp, but I've heard it does wonders for the mic's   
   performance...some have said it's like a totally, new, different, better

   I was instead thinking of overdriving the preamp's 12AX7 with a keyboard to   
   see if I can get some of that 'growl' and 'grind' that sounds so awesome   
   with Hammond organs and clonewheels...okay, and electric, and even acoustic   
   pianos too (haven't gotten to the clavinet yet but I Know it'll be Awesome!)   
   as I've been experimenting with my Behringer solid state "Tube Overdrive"   
   effect and so far for the most part, I really like what I'm hearing ;)

   Yep, and I suspect that it's because I complained about the Pathetic sound   
   'quality' on the last recordings and I'm guessing that rather than FIX the   
   problem i.e. get a Competent sound person, someone's decided it's *easier*   
   to simply not send out recordings anymore...I'm sure when a light on their   
   car's instrument panel comes on, they just put a piece of electrical tape   
   over it too so they don't have to see it...same STUPID idea...they'd rather   
   hear CRAP than complaints about it ;)

   I don't believe in change Unless and Until it's Thoroughly and Validly   
   Proven to be Needed...AND I *actually* *have* that need myself!!!   
      
   In other words, IF IT'S NOT BROKEN *DON'T* 'FIX' IT!!!   
      
   Or to put it another way, STABILITY IS A GOOD THING!!!   
      
   Besides, one size NEVER fits all...because we're NOT all the same, we're   
   Unique, Different Individuals...and the "P" in PC does NOT stand for PUBLIC,   
   it stands for PERSONAL, as in INDIVIDUAL, and Individual Personal   
   Preferences!!!

   I'm not familiar with the compatibility between the  different os's. But   
   what I'd really be interested in is Linux.

   I know tablets are used by the military...and I'll bet those can survive   
   being dropped, or at least have a good chance of survival.   
   I should look into what they're using...same for AT&T phone crews...their   
   tablets go through a lot.
