   I didn't test them in combat yet - and pray I'll never have to, but I have   
   tested them at home by cranking my amp to the point that it produced   
   distorted sound while wearing the ear plugs and they worked great. Then I   
   took them out - WOW! The amp was only about 3' away from me and the sound   
   was Painful - it didn't take long for me to put the plugs right back in.   
   These plugs are rated at 12 dB of protection and you can actually hear your   
   own voice singing while wearing them, that is, your own voice conducted   
   through the  atmosphere...it's pretty cool.   
      
   Still, I Hate ANYthing stuck into my ears so I'll only use them for genuine   
   emergencies, like that Painful gig that left my ears ringing for FOUR   
   DAYS!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! I'm properly prepared for that now.
