I thought you meant playing recordings and calling that a Live performance.

   > that's right, I forgot .. you don't consider playing dances " worthy ".

I don't considering playing for those who aren't interested in listening
   worthy.

   > no it can't be recorded. Sound can be recorded.

The psychoacoustic part of the Love Vibe can be recorded, because it is
acoustic energy...stimulated by the Love Vibe.

   > And all you're gonn get from sloppy playing is a recording of sloppy
   > playing.

Well of course, because it was sloppy to begin with ;)

   > Sorry, but again, I have to disagree. All you hear on a recording is
   > sound.

But it's the characteristics of that sound that can tell a lot, but that
   requires Listening.

   > Remember, the " music " got grabbed and turned into a fake reproduction

Not quite. What you'll hear is something that's not Live...but the
inflections on the instrument(s), just like inflections of a singing voice,
can and do indicate the psychological condition of the person producing the
   sounds.

   > well, of course, it's so obvious to me now.

   > that was sarcasm, btw :-)

   Or lack of understanding ;)

   As in scat singing?

   > Yeah, I know, you'd say it would be great.

   Depends on the details.

   > Now, back to the real world, it'd be shit. You know that, and I do too.

Anything that's not tight sounds like that.

   > Unless you really don't, and then, well, what is there to say.

I'm only interested in a tight sound won't waste my life with anything less
any more...been there too many times.

And jamming has Never meant getting loose and SLOPPY to me!!!

   > I'm not going onstage with someone who's gonna make up the songs on the
   > spot, because they can't be bothered to prepare anything.

   Jim

Sounds like some of the bands I'd played with not all that long ago...and
they weren't really jamming either, they just SUCK - because they mostly
don't know, or care, what they're doing. They don't practice, never
rehearse, and do the same old, Stale CopyCatfish Bottom Feeder Crap over and
over ad infinitum ad nauseam...then can't wait to take breaks, run out the
'clock', get the gig over with, grab the Filthy Lucre, and run, only to do
the same Boring, Stale, and Miserable thing next week.
   In other words MUSICAL PARASITES!

And I've given them more appropriate names for them too, based on the names
   they already used:

   The Honey Buckets
   The Jukebox Drunkards
   The Broken Back
   Deadwood
   The End

At least those names are deserved ;)
