   Sort of impromptu ;)

I'm also referring to the tiny powered monitors...which would probably
resist being fried due to their having their own power amp built in...that's
the kind I'm interested in, for that reason.

   > No. But still, not worth the effort.

Sounds like the 'cost' of retrieving them would be more than they're worth
) Doesn't sound like a very good situation.

But I have my own policy regarding turning up. If Idiots get too loud, I'll
turn up Only a Limited amount, and then Only to just barely hear myself -
I've become used, Tragically, to playing at the very threshold of
perception. It's neither easy to do nor fun, merely an Unnecessary Challenge
i.e. dealing with IDIOTS. But beyond that, I'll NOT turn up ANY louder for
ANY reason - my equipment, and that most definitely includes my hearing, is
worth infinitely more than ANY Idiot ANY Day and I REFUSE to Lose ANY of it
   over STUPIDITY!!!

   > That's a common church solution.

I've only seen that done once, and it was at a church. On the other hand, if
their drummer had the skills that my Soulmate has, the plastic drummer cage
wouldn't be necessary at all. Maybe the amps should be in cages too ;)

If it already happened, what's to talk through? ;)

I think I got the medium ones...I seriously doubt size would make any
difference to someone who experiences an ordeal for having anything stuck
into their ears like I do. ;)

   > One local band here braggs about having over 5000 watts on the their main

If the venue is something like Chicago's McCormick Place, perhaps, but 5 kW
of audio would be deadly to hearing and it would take a LOT of main pa cabs
   to handle that.

Got it...and now you can see me looking my Worst from the picture I sent
   you.
