And I prefer to think of them as *active*, as in performing       musicians, the presence or absence of Filthy Lucre notwithstanding.              When it's a labor of Love, I enjoy working, and I'll Never 'retire' from it       so long as I'm still breathing!       When I worked with loudspeakers, I Loved what I was doing so much I always       came in early, stayed late, and almost never bothered with lunch - I just       kept on working because I thoroughly enjoyed and was totally passionate       about what I was doing...and as awesome as that was, it pales in comparison       to making Music, which is after all, making Love!!!              > you're right that some of the people I work with seem to care more about       > the money than the music.              The clowns I used to play with were like that. My Soulmate calls it "milking       the clock". They'd play the same Old, Stale, Boring Crap, and not very well.       Then they'd see how they could extend their breaks, then they kept       mentioning, almost counting down the minutes before the gig was over, they       could grab the Filthy Lucre, and run, because even they were that Bored,       only to do it again next week...DISGUSTING!!!              > I'd agree. If they could hear as well as they think they can, they'd never       > tolerate crazy loud levels.              The really big clues are when their playing Sucks because they can't hear       it.              > why do they do it then ? I don't understand at all ..... seriously       > don't get it. I've never wanted to fry my hearing. It really doesn't       > make sense to me. I can't relate to it at all.              They're Lazy, Phony, Stupid Bottom Feeder Low Life Losers who manage to       somehow convince themselves, i.e. LIE to themselves that they're 'rock       stars' because they go through *some* of the motions. That's why, and how       those FOOLS FOOL themselves into Pretending they're something they simply       aren't inclined to Invest the Required Time and Effort into becoming for       Real!              > So, why do they do it. Living some sort of rock and roll fantasy is the ,       > best I can figure.              Because they're Immature overgrown children for whom everything is a       fantasy...because they're Lazy and don't have the Maturity to put in the       Effort to turn their fantasies into reality...like by writing songs for only       one example.              They turn up their amps to deafness levels because it makes them feel that       they're accomplishing something (hearing loss) without investing any Serious       Effort...i.e. it's 'impressive' (annoying, painful, and dangerous), 'easy',       and they're LAZY!              > I didn't use to have a band .... maybe need to go back there              The important part is having the right persons, which is why I'm going with       a duo...but I do believe I can make it sound like a band ;)              > So that's the plan. But there's more to it. Procedures are in place to       > keep people like that away from the pilots. There are probably even       > people who keep people away from big time performers .... they don't need       > or want random advice from random people.              That's why they usually have security personnel ;)              > They will.              If they can learn to live with doing things like they should be done, there       might just be some hope for them yet ;)              > Yep. I can't control their desires, but I can control the pa in our       > band.              Jim              That's always a good start.              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
