I'm sure that's because of all the cranking up you've been subjected to.

That's how those things happen. I was in my 20s when I was subjected to
sizzler cymbals - that's when I started wearing earplugs.

   > But overall, yeas, I can hear ok. Mild tinnitus. Had that since my teens.

That's the problem with ASSAULTS on hearing, each Attack leaves more and
more Cumulative Damage until hearing is Lost.

That seems weird, because I've always observed that those experiencing
progressive deafness become more and more "hard of hearing"....which is why
they need hearing aids - to amplify sound.

   > They have a compressed range

I'd say it's because they've taken care of their hearing is the reason they
complain about too loud sounds...because they've preserved their hearing
   sensitivity.

   > So, what's that mean? What's it all come down too ?

I'd say the sensible thing to do is to stay below hearing Damaging levels.

   > That my band mates that insist on very loud stage levels can't hear very
   > well.

That's more than plainly obvious. They should get hearing aids and then
take care of what little hearing they have left.

   > People are in many ways stupid. Everyone believes things that are
   > wrong.

Because they're too LAZY, a STUPID way to be, to check it out and Verify
whether it's true, or a LIE.

   > We've all been taught wrong things. And we've come to wrong
   > conclusions on our own. The stupid part kicks in when you know you're
   > wrong and yet still won't change, won't admit it to yourself.

That Adds Another dimension to being Stupid. First, there's the STUPIDITY
of being LAZY, now, in Addition, there's also the STUPIDITY of being
   MASOCHISTIC i.e. Lazy AND Masochistic!!!

Then to top it off, there's the STUPIDITY of NON-THINKING, because that
supports being Lazy i.e. don't think because it's 'hard work', and it
supports being a Masochist because 'it's so depressing to think about being
Abused' - that's where "bread and circuses" comes from - Distraction from
   the Horrors of Reality!

   > No ability to self adjust, to change and accept reality. Some hold onto
   > false beliefs out of stubbornness. Or ego. Or just plain Stupid.

   Jim

Oh, I believe there is the ability to adjust and Respond, but without the
Inclination to do so, nothing good happens.

It's just like two big screen monitors, like we have at church - one of them
fell about nine feet and was destroyed, the other one survived....BUT, IF
the power plug is out of the wall on the one that still works, that monitor
is Practically JUST AS DEAD as the one that was destroyed...and THAT is Why
the Enemy seeks FOOLS to *act* like Zombies - because if they do, they might
as well, for all Vile Intents and Purposes, actually BE Non-Thinking
   Zombies!!!
