   It's like a Disease, crank-up-itis.

   > but the fight wasn't worth it. Sometimes bad feelings left from fighting
   > to get a result overshadow the result. It wan't worth the fight. Too many

I sure know how that goes. Been there far too many times, even at church, of
   all places.

   > You may have a medical issue.

May? No doubt about it. Ear nose and throat issues have been Plaguing me all
my life, and I'm sick of them!

   > Egos.

   Ego PROBLEMS!!!

Ego is a very good thing. It's what Delineates you as an Individual, Unique
person unto yourself, unlike anyone else...it Protects your own Unique,
Individual Personhood from being Confused with anyone else's and thus
misrepresented at very least, and outright Denied at very worst - what
   Holocausts are made of!!!

But when someone decides that their personhood is *better* than your
personhood, That's an Ego Problem , whether the Always LAME 'excuse' for it
is, 'I play better than you', 'I sing better than you', 'I look better than
you', etc., ad infinitum, and nauseam...because it's Nothing more than
   Sickening, Disgusting ARROGANCE!!!

   > Yep. Ego. And a bar musician thing, total distrust that you're loud
   > enough, being heard.

That's Stupidity! And Arrogance is Stupid. And if the Idiots would actually
bother to use an SPL meter in the audience area, they'd totally eliminate
all doubt as to their being heard!!!

   > An attitude like that would instantly get you fired from any pro level
   > band I can think of. Especially if it showed as open rebellion to how the
   > front of house sound was being adjusted.

That's why I'm interested ONLY in the 'pro level' ;)

   > I can think of several specific instances where I or a friend worked on
   > big money, serious shows. In every case, we were specifically told not to
   > adjust the amps ....... period. That would be a firing offence. Period.

That's what the Idiots Refuse to understand...that soundwork is an ART and
when Skillful sound persons knock themselves out to get everything mixed
just right, they don't want some RETARDS messing up all their hard work.

   > There's no point doing sound checks, if the musicians are gonna turn
   > around and mess with their amp levels after the check.

They're Stupid, that's why. They forget that the sound check is to SET the
   levels and LEAVE them there!!!

   > Or, in one case, the show was being broadcast over major networks. I ask a
   > regular guitar guy about his level. He said, I come out, plug my
   > instrument in that amp, and perform. I said, do you adjust anything ? He
   > said something like, not if I ever want to work on this show again :-)

   It only makes sense.

   > I can work at very low levels, and I enjoy that. Apparently I'd have the
   > stage level far lower than my fellow players would. Don't know why. I
   > have some thoughts, but it doesn't matter.

I have very good hearing so I don't need high levels at all, and all I
Require, and it's nonnegotiable, is that I can Clearly hear Every instrument
(including mine) and voice (including mine) while performing.

   > All that matters is, I'm not gonna get fired over being too loud. The
   > end.

To me, that's being fired over being STUPID, and that's Insane!

   > It's a struggle to get some musicians to behave. We're all our own bosses
   > ....

If they don't understand and Practice COOPERATION, how can they even be in a
   band in the first place???
