   I'll only crank up *slightly* if the band gets too loud, and that's only   
   enough to just barely hear myself. Beyond that, I'll just keep playing   
   without further increasing the volume as I struggle to hear   
   myself....something I'm all too used to...and when those in the audience say   
   they can't hear me, I'll be sure to refer them to the band to ask them why   
   they were playing at so loud a volume that I couldn't be heard.

   That's what I do - if I should find myself in that situation...but I much   
   prefer, and endeavor NOT to get into that situation in the first place!

   You don't have to try to control them...that's THEIR JOB, and if they're   
   Mature, they'll DO IT, if not, BYE BYE!!!   
      
   Rather, it's more important to be able to sort out the various psychological   
   conditions so as to separate the proverbial "wheat" from the "chaff" ;)
