   Because the person or persons responsible for designing the layout of the   
   supplemental materials (presumably Thorgerson and Gilmour) thought that having   
   all of the page numbers be the same colored heads facing the same direction   
   would be uninteresting.   
      
   In other words, the orientation of the heads might just be arbitrary. The page   
   numbers on which the heads appear, however, seem not to be. Remember Phil's   
   discovery that even and odd counts wind up making the binary code for 1918?   
   And if you combine that    
   with the only other apparent clue in the page numbers - the elf elf - you get   
   11 11 1918, the date of the first Armistice.   
      
   All this talk of mouths and bodies and binaural beats, and nobody is talking   
   about war. But I suppose the importance of that all depends on which problem   
   you're trying to solve; the one that was given to us, or the ones you've   
   invented for yourselves?
