XPost: alt.music.s-mclachlan, alt.music.canada, alt.music.alternative.female       From: dalton@nfld.com              The artists that I mentioned in the last post who could be       considered alternative are probably Silverseed, Gearbox,       Persona, Mark Bragg and The Black Wedding Band, Bucket Truck,       Bung, Jody Richardson, Mike Wade, Lizband and Coast Guard       but there are a lot of other good Newfoundland and Labrador       alternative rock bands, many (along with usually a few       visitors) who play the annual Peace-A-Chord festival here.              Also it seems that at times some non-alternative female       singer/songwriters (included SannM) are discussed in       alt.music.alternative.female since other groups such       as alt.music.lilith-fair and alt.music.ecto and       alt.music.female-vocalists are completely dead, as is       alt.rock-n-roll.metal.bad-grrrl . But I would like to       know of other hard rocking female led bands that you       know of? Like there's Hole, and I guess Courtney Love       is in a new band, any news on that? Bif Naked played       here recently and impressed me, and I highly recommend       her, and her summer/early fall guitarist was Britt Karroll of       Live on Release and she impressed me so Live on Release       is a band to watch for I think.              a D, eh              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
