   I've been on usenet for about 8 1/2 years now.   
      
   Prior to that, I was a regular denizen of FIDONet for what seemed   
   like forever, but was probably more like 6-8 years.   
      
   I've been called more names than you can think of.   
      
   My sexuality, my lineage, the propriety of my relationship with   
   my child, my sanity, my ethics, my artistic skill, my driving   
   habits, the size of my penis, the number and type of places I   
   choose to put my penis, the computer I use, the car I   
   drive....all of these and more have been deconstructed over the   
   years by random losers with too much time on their hands.   
      
   I've been threatened with death more times than I can count.  My   
   family has been called and harassed countless times.  People have   
   even attempted to introduce my Usenet postings as evidence of my   
   incompetence as a father.   
      
   In all that time, through all that drama, I can think of nothing   
   that so cuts to the quick, no phrase or accusation which more   
   effectively reduces me to a quivering mass of insecure sobbing   
   emotional goo, than for you to suggest that I am a fan of Stone   
   Temple Pilots.   
      
   I've been accused of raping children, of robbing from the poor,   
   or being a racist, of being liberal AND conservative, of driving   
   drunk, of smoking crack, and of having a laughable sense of   
   fashion, but never have I been accused of something of this   
   magnitude and severity.   
      
   I mean, I'm an opinionated guy with a big mouth, you know, I   
   expect to get some shit, but this...this is beyond the pale.  I   
   am firmly convinced that no human being has ever been so   
   grievously insulted in the entire history of human disagreement.   
      
   I think I'll go cry now.

   if the worst thing someone can say about me is that I like STP,   
   I'm not going to lose a great deal of sleep over it.
