From: night_wolf@libero.it              Hi all,              Well.. I can give you my personal opinion, but I think that       most of the people here will agree.              >       > What is the added value of the physical product?       >       > What are the advantages of a physical CD collection over a digital       > one?              No added value for me, but for the band that plays the songs.              If I download their discography and I like they work, I am definitely       gonna buy their albums. For instance I love Pearl Jam and, besides       all their digital collection, I bought all the albums as well, cause I think       they deserve that money.              The only thing that sometimes prevents me from buying CDs is the high taxes       we       have on them. I don't know you guys, but here in Italy we can pay up to 20 ?       (ie. about 20 $) to get a single CD. So a lot of students cannot afford to       buy       many and are forced to download the MP3s (who can blame them?).              >       > What can the music industry do to add value to the physical product,       > so that you will continue to buy the CD instead of downloading the       > track?              The music industry and copyright authorities should decrease taxes.       This way they won't add any value, but allow more people to buy       their favourite bands' albums.              I hope you guys agree with me!              Cheers,       Nightwolf.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
