|    Musical Recommendation Request    |
|    05 Feb 06 00:19:21    |
Hi All,              I am looking for a recommendation for some happy music. But the music needs       to also be alternative, not mainstream stuff that you hear on the radio. I       can't stand that.              I'll give a bit of background. I grew up on alternative music, leaning       towards more sombre artists like Nick Cave, Sonic Youth, Laibach, Test Dept,       Residents etc. I used to enjoy the 'depressing' feel of this music, as the       scene at the time was "depressing=cool". I recently began realizing that       this sort of music may not support me emotionally and is taking me in       directions I don't want to go. It's time to change to happier/more positive       music. I am a programmer, and I would be especially be interested in music       that would be fun to program to or increase motivation. I'm currently       listening to Architecture in Helsinki and find them quite happy most of the       time. Just to be clear, I couldn't stand anything like Britney Spears or       even the likes of Nirvana are just too banal. Does anyone have an idea? I       would be most grateful if several readers could contribute some ideas, as       there may be different muscial tastes out there. Thanks!              Regards,              KJ              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
