|    ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA - Performances (7/25    |

XPost: rec.arts.tv, alt.tv.american-idol, alt.music.inxs       XPost: alt.music.alternative.female       From: nospam@nospam.com              We got to hear some tracks by Supernova at the beginning... sounds very       classic rock, like the stuff Alice Cooper is aiming for now.              1. Lukas Rossi       "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve       Boring. He's showing of a lot of style, but little or no substance. Poser.              2. Zayra Alvarez       "Call Me" by Blondie       Right... don't call us, we'll call you. She's starting to remind me of Bai       Ling from But Can They Sing. A waste, especially since we know from last       week she can do better than this.              3. Dana Andrews       "About A Girl" by Nirvana       Wow. That was impressive. This one might get the encore.              4. Patrice Pike       "Remedy" by The Black Crowes       Didn't seem like she got "into" the song. Too much smiling, like she was       trying to imitate Suzy. She looks a bit like Alanis Morrissette, and is       creeping me out just much.              5. Toby Rand       "White Wedding" by Billy Idol       Definitely not his best performance, despite what Jason said. Very forced.              6. Magni       "Heroes" by David Bowie       Seemed like his vocals were getting drowned out early on in the song, but it       was good. The band probably had a point about him just standing there       strapped to the guitar, but at least he was actually playing it (unlike       Lukas, I suspect).              7. Ryan Star       "I Alone" by Live       Okay, at first I thought he just went from trying to imitate JD to imitating       Marty Casey, but he actually pulled this off. Like Gilby said, "good job".              8. Jill Gioia (with Gilby Clarke on guitar)       "Brown Sugar" by The Rolling Stones       Vocals were okay. Performace was good, except when she started sodomizing       Gilby. Bit over the top, yeah.              9. Phil Ritchie       "One Headlight" by the Wallflowers       Right back to where he was before the breakthrough performance of last week.       He's in real danger this week.              10. Dilana       "Time after Time" by Cyndi Lauper       Er... whatever. Even the band was desperately trying to find great things       to say about this. The acoustic arrangement wasn't bad at all, just seemed       like pointless filler.              11. Josh Logan       "No Rain" by Blind Melon       I swear to god, every time I see this guy he looks like he's STONED. That       was just a lazy performance. Enough already. Supernova already has at       least one person with a serious drug problem.              12. Storm Large       "Anything Anything" by Dramarama       Fuck yeah! She's so far above and beyond the others right now it's not even       funny. You go Storm. Show them how it's done.                     Bottom 3 at the end of the show:       Josh       Jill       Zayra              Who should go: Lukas       Who will go: Josh or Phil              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
