There are two different versions of Sweet Insanity. I like the
original better. Smart Girls has two versions- one with actual
samples from Beach Boys records- one with new recordings of those
lines. The one with new recordings flows better, but the sampled one
   is goofier.

The GIOMH versions of the Sweet Insanity tracks are much better.
Brian is much more confident now, does what he wants and doesn't let
the record label try to make him sound more contemporary. Plus he has
a better band. (And there aren't any drum machines).

The original Sweet Insanity tapes I believe were stolen somewhere
along the way, which precludes it ever being released. I'd like to
hear Brian release Water Builds Up someday though. That's a great
   song.

Adult Child isn't really an album. It's a collection of false starts
for different unfinished projects. There's the Brian Wilson big band
stuff, where he tries to sound like Bobby Darin and a bunch of Beach
Boys tracks about health and fitness. And some really awful pseudo-
surf pop stuff like Hey Little Tomboy, which is probably the worst
song Brian ever wrote. But It's Over and Still I Dream of It are
great songs, which are available on the Good Vibrations box set.
