At least you're a real hillbilly, instead of a Yalee who adopted a Ross
Perot persona because the man beat your dad.

Personally, i do it to get their attention. I don't think it makes me
sound any more or less enlightened. Okay, maybe less.

The problem with liberals is that they've allowed someone to smear them
with the permanent ink of nonsense. Liberals are responsible for civil
rights, child labor laws, and safety nets for the poor and elderly.
They're heroes, but they're victims of their own success. A generation
or two later, nobody remembers what it was like before those damned
liberals worked so hard to eliminate civilization's most serious woes.
So instead of focusing on the benefit (now taken for granted) the focus
   is now on the cost.

If you have statistics that show the majority of Bush voters are
reasonable, i'd like to see them.

   > To dismiss them as
   > ignorant and shameful because they vote differently than you, shows an
   > incredible intolerance to other's views. It amazes me.

If i dismiss them, it's not because they're ignorant, it's because
they're proud of their simplicity. Not because they're shameful, but
because they're shameless. They go to a church that calls itself
Christian while ignoring His (I'm capitalizing that because i think he
was a great teacher, not because I think he's supernatural) gospel.
   It's practically Orwellian.

I'm tolerant of these views I see as misguided, and I will defend your
right to be 'wrong'. I do not think you're going to go to hell, and I
do not think you're helping Osama by voting for Bush. I do, however,
think you're gonna have lots of 'splainin to do, perhaps for the rest
   of your life.

I think morons and idiots deserve as much respect as anyone. I even
think they should have a right to vote. And I take note of the fact
that you're from North Carolina, a vastly superior state than its
   Southern neighbor.

Does it not bother you that you're voting for the same man that the
racists, homophobes, and warmongers are voting for?

Fair enough. At times like this I understand why it's good advice not
to discuss politics or religion in mixed company.

And i'm sorry if i've offended anyone. My quandary is that when i read
posts that I feel go too far, i feel the need to respond in kind. Then
perhaps i go too far. I don't know for sure.....only time will tell.

And by the way....listen to your Mother.

P.S. I hope your vote is counted. I really mean that.
