   Donald Clarke's Encyclopedia of Popular Music was first published by Viking   
   in 1989. A revised version was published as The Penguin Guide to popular   
   Music in 1990 and a second edition in 1998 by which time it had reached over   
   1500 pages. To Donald's dismay Penguin never published a third edition and   
   in order to keep it up to date and accessible it has been presented on the   
   MusicWeb web site. There are now over 4000 biographies.   
      
   MusicWeb has now also released this on a CD-ROM incorporating all the latest   
   revisions.
