Yikes! I think I'm one of the only (hard core) Beach Boy fan that likes this
tune! Interesting replies as it seems like it's univerally despised by
pretty much everyone. BTW, just for the record, I wouldn't compare it to PS
/ Smile or anything else one would call "Classic Beach Boys". Kokomo is
hardly in that league. But, I'm not backpedaling, I've always liked Kokomo
   and stand by that opinion.

Guess I'll walk alone on this one.

I like Kokomo because it sounds like the Beach Boys. It's very melodic, has
nice harmony and, it's a clean and clearly produced record. Plus, and I hate
this part, it's very infectious. (That might be good or bad depending on the
band) I ALWAYS give a higher than average 'benefit of the doubt' to any BB
recording as I like them so much. Maybe my bias got the better of me, but I
   don't think so.

Okay, tell me. What is *so* wrong with Kokomo? No politics, no Landy, no
   "Cocktail" crap.

Why do you people, the BB fans themselves, dislike this record so much?
