Derek's opinions are always pretty much 'on the mark' and Earl, you make
some decent points too. Both posts shed some light, but really don't answer
my question as well as I'd hoped.

I seldom regard lyrics as much more than a gateway for the general public to
make a song 'accessible'. That's just me, there are great lyrics / poetry in
Pop Music. The Beatles made me appreciate them more, but for me it's the
Melody / Harmony and Rythm that make or break a song. For example, the
insipid lyrics on Fun, Fun, Fun have no bearing on my enjoyment of that
exceptional piece. However, almost everything on Smile is very interesting
lyric-wise. Good music doesn't need lyrics - just my opinion.

I still welcome any more opinions on this topic. Like I said, even close,
musician friends of mine absolutely abhor this track and I'd really like to
get some other opinions...like Derek's and Earl's. I've never seen such
consistently hostile reactions, by fans and citizens, of this track and I'm
just curious why that is. Let's call it an 'Academic Study'.

I take no offense, and let's really be honest. We're not talking about God
Only Knows or GV....it's only Kokomo! Hell, I barely listen to it myself.
   But, I like it.

   Thanks guys,
Mike T. (The 'T' stands for TARDO I imagine?) LOL.
