So said Carl Wilson, but at least
it was a group effort, you can
sense the fun that they had while
   making this lp.

   Instead of Brian's constant
   pursuit of perfection, the atmosphere
on this lp is what you'd expect from
a bunch of pot smokers at the bottom
   of a swimming pool.

   Take away "Good Vibrations" &
"Heroes & Villains" which are here
   supposedly to salvage the "Smile"
debacle, and you still have a very
   strong lp.

   I always prefered the versions
   of "Wind Chimes", "Wonderful",
   and "Vegetables" on this lp.
and "Fall Breaks And Back To Winter"
is closer to what Brian really intended
   for that "Fire Suite".

    And "Gettin' Hungry"
is probably one of their best recordings,
I could never figure out why the Boys released
this as a single under Brian & Mike.

The reason for the failure of this lp
lies in the bloated expectations of
   "Smile" which was the "Bunt"

"Smiley Smile " should at least
be a Home Run maybe an inside the
   pool one.
