Besides, Wilson       performed the 'Smile' version lyrics - I don't like those either. However,       some of the melody is better. (Clear as mud huh?)              >I just think at an auto racing event a car song would have ben more       appropriate.<              Agreed.              > And those lame shots they showed of someone surfing had nothing to do with       > anything.<              Again, I agree. And, why the hell did they bother? GV has nothing to do with       surfing, although Wilson certainly does invoke that image. But, yeah - it       was strange.              >I'm sure Brian could have plugged the words to 'Shut Down' or 'Car       > Club' into his teleprompter and given the audience something they could       > relate to. Hell if he had to play some old chesnut, why not 'I Get       Around'?<              Yes, yes and yes. Indeed, as I previously mentioned - a car song would have       been not only more appropriate - it would have been cool. Let's face it,       Smile has occupied a lot of fan's ears lately, a good, old fashioned car       tune would have hit the spot a lot better.              > > They could always drop the Star Spangled Banner from sporting events       > > too. Aren't you sick of that?       > >       >       > No. Radio hasn't ruined it yet.<              Ha! And he returns the volley....good show!              I'm Canadian, and have always had a soft spot for the American Anthem. When       performed properly, it's a tear-jerker and a beautiful song. (My fellow       countrymen might ban me from Canada after reading this!)              Anyway, I agree with much of what you say.       Mike T.                                                 >       >              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
