   I disagree, but I don't think they're outstanding either. Besides, Wilson   
   performed the 'Smile' version lyrics - I don't like those either. However,   
   some of the melody is better. (Clear as mud huh?)

   Again, I agree. And, why the hell did they bother? GV has nothing to do with   
   surfing, although Wilson certainly does invoke that image. But, yeah - it   
   was strange.

   Yes, yes and yes. Indeed, as I previously mentioned - a car song would have   
   been not only more appropriate - it would have been cool. Let's face it,   
   Smile has occupied a lot of fan's ears lately, a good, old fashioned car   
   tune would have hit the spot a lot better.

   Ha! And he returns the volley....good show!   
      
   I'm Canadian, and have always had a soft spot for the American Anthem. When   
   performed properly, it's a tear-jerker and a beautiful song. (My fellow   
   countrymen might ban me from Canada after reading this!)   
      
   Anyway, I agree with much of what you say.
