   Do you know if they did that in the British pre-recording tour, which is   
   what's documented on that DVD? From the documentary on the making of   
   *Smile*, he seems to have still been pretty fragile at that time. (I   
   don't remember now whether the documentary was packaged with the *Smile*   
   DVD, or was a separate one -- I'm a BB newbie and hurried to grab   
   everything I could while it remained in print.)   
      
   BTW, relating to another recent thread, I was rather repulsed by Mike's   
   antics in those earliest video clips included in the "Sights and Sounds   
   of Summer" bonus DVD, and over 40 years later he was doing _exactly the   
   same moves_ at the DC Fourth of July concert this year. (I think it must   
   have started because he was the only one without an instrument, and he   
   never had a drama teacher or a chorus director to tell him what to do   
   with his hands.) And they didn't identify anyone else performing -- is   
   Bruce Johnston in the group still/again?
