   PAR is a recovery set for .rar files that misinformed people have been   
   posting in MP3 groups. PAR works wonders if you've downloaded a .rar and   
   bits of it are either missing or corrupted. It will restore the .rar file.   
   PAR is just a waste of bandwidth in MP3 groups because a person could just   
   request a repost of a corrupted file.
