From: JYOB@aol.com              Finally saw it this past weekend. B+.              The guy who played young Brian was fantastic.       John Cusak...not so much.        Why didn't they just dress Eugene Landy up in a horned red devil suit with a       pitchfork? A little over the top, I thought. Perhaps he *was* that way in       real life.              The guy who played Mike was very good. I wonder what Mike thinks of the movie.              I couldn't spot any anachronisms in the movie at all. Duzn't mean there       weren't       any.              The guy who played Murray was good.              Did they go back in time & bring back the real Van Dyke Parks? The actor who       played him was spot on!              I read where they cut 20 minutes out of the movie. They could have cut about       15 more. Too much repartition in the "Brian losing it" scenes...both young &       old. We get it, OK? Might have been handled better with a collage of scenes.        But then....I'm not        the director.              Also read that the real Brian had a "extras" cameo as a pedestrian in the       background. Don't know where in the movie. Missed it.              Did you get the symbolism of the "deep end of the pool" scene?              Outside of two guys in their 30's most of the 25 or so people in the audience       were over 50.              Also, if I was the Manager of that Cadillac dealership, I would have called       the cops when Landy was causing that scene & had him escorted out.              All for now.......              The OLD Geezer              ND: Southern Tier 2X IPA              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
