   Someone had to bring it us ;-)   
   Curious what everyone thinks now that we have Smile.  If released at the   
   same time as Sgt Pepper, which would have prevailed as the album of the   
   time? They are so different in so many ways.  SP is clearly more commercial   
   in that it follows the standard pop/rock song album formula, whereas Smile   
   is more of a rock opera.  In fact, would Tommy have been as breakthrough had   
   Smile been released on time?  I found myself explaining to someone how this   
   concept of songs strung together was "like Tommy, only done before Tommy".
