   This is perfectly reasonable (to me at least.) We have driven up to ten   
   hours each way from SW Ohio to the DC area to see Brian. Just this   
   weekend, we drove 6 hours to Chicago, and last night, about 4 hours to   
   Ann Arbor. It was completely worth it! Practically, we can't afford to   
   do it, but a few monthly payments on the credit card will catch us up.
