I just downloaded a version of "Smile" that is from the       best unreleased takes, the exact same song line-up as the new "Smile",       only by the Beach Boys. Both are good. But I strongly prefer the new       one. It just flows better, has a better "feel" to it, a "completeness"       that the other one does not have, even though they are all the same       arrangements. I will grant you that SOME - not all - of the vocals are       better on the BB version. But the new Wilson recording has much more       "heart"! And is, thus, along with better recording technology, the       better of the two.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
