   I recently bought GIOMH. I listened to it and something wasn't quite right.   
   It eventually dawned on me. The percussion is too loud. It is masking the   
   other   
   instruments, which can be quite sublime with Brian Wilson. I would have   
   expected   
   better of him. You listen to the sixties type production and then the   
   percussion comes   
   in and blocks it out, specifically the drums. This happens on parts of the   
   album, as yet not confirmed for the entire thing.   
   I can just imagine some audio engineer telling him it sounds dull, bring the   
   drums louder.   
   I hope at least it was Brian's decision, then I can live with it.
