   Actually, it's teachers and parents and this from Neil Peart himself. A   
   didactic is one who teaches and narpets is an anagram like you said. The   
   addicts part is coincidental. But I always though that this piece represented   
   the hero being assaulted, while    
   acting as captain of a ship, by his deserting crew and that the heavy guitar   
   chords at the end were cudgel blows. Thus the words that immediately follow on   
   the next track.
