|    Feedback II: What Should They Include?    |

From: joemahoney1950@gmail.com              My friends, amidst my prayers for Rush's return, a thought occurred (or was       delivered) to me: Maybe they need to get their feet wet, so to speak, before       diving into the deep end and creating a whole album's worth of new music.        Maybe they should do        another album of covers! Feedback II.               Now, there were some fans, influenced by the liberal media and probably latent       Leninists to begin with, who found the timing of the first Feedback       suspicious, emerging as it did as our Great President, George "Dubya" Bush,       invaded Iraq at Jesus' behest.        Some of these liberals felt that Rush, in releasing an album of mostly hippie       protest songs, were commenting critically on Dubya's Divine Mission.        Bwahahahahahaha! They LOVE Dubya and his efforts to Spread the Word; that's       why Neil moved to the US, to        be closer to Texas. Besides, the songs on Feedback reflected their *youthful*       influences. We all do silly things as youths -- even Dubya himself, Neil's       primary inspiration as a mature ADULT, admitted sagely, "When I was young and       inexperienced, I was        young ansd inexperienced." (Sounds like a possible refrain for Neil to work       into his next album of original or Dubya-inspired lyrcs.              Anyway, I feel in my Soul, that a Feedback II would be more overtly Christian,       because Neil & the guys don't want any further misunderstandings. So it will       be explicitly pro-Christian, pro-Trump, Pro-Intelligent Design Science, and       pro-Alt-Right.                      So given these definite parameters, what songs would you like Rush to cover on       Feedback II?              My #1 choice (and it WOULD be a big hit for the guys) is "Spirit in the Sky,"       by master songwriter Norman Greenbaum. Rush, with practice, could probably       play the parts -- and Lord Knows they are behind the Message.               Now, there's a complication that arises in this world: Should Rush cover       Norman Greenbaum's original version of the song -- or its cover by the       New-Wave band Dr. & the Medics?               You know, in the early 80s, I wasn't so sure where Rush, progressive rockers,       would stand on New Wave. But suddenly, in the mid-80s, they couldn't shut up       about how much they loved it, and were attempting to work New Wave elements       into their music. Why?        Because they had heard "Spirit in the Sky," as interpreted by Dr. & the       Medics!               So will they cover the original or the cover? It will be a vigorous debate,       no doubt! Maybe they'll do both!              What Christian-themed songs do *you* expect on Feedback II?              Joe "Spiritual Not Religious" M.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
