By conservative they meant politics. And I don't rememba the dates but the
quotes are recent, I just saw the otticle today. And Neil never really
"distanced" himself from Rand. Look at the enthusiasm for her in their
   quotes; his "distancing" from her
is lukewarm and just done for PR purposes so they wouldn't be ignored by the
wibwoo media and they could continue selling albums and spreading their
conservative message. Look at what Neil said, wholeheartedly, about Rand's
   philosophy being "the only
one applicable" in the world today. Not Plato -- that was ancient Rome
anyway, so they didn't know anything. Not any of those fools from the 1700s
who was so "enlightened" - I'd like to see them refute Behe, Dembski, and
   Intelligent Design Science!
And not any of the so-called analytic philosophers, cause they were more
concerned with writing books than protecting our borders from the Mexican
   Caravans.

Why do you suppose Rush didn't decide to quit till Trump got elected? They
were going to continue with albums, promoting Neil's radical right, Ayn
Rand-inspirted musings, until Trump got elected and they knew the rest of the
   world had caught on. Neil
keeps a close eye on the border with his telescopes and rifles in the Santa
Monica hills. But otherwise he is quite content with how the world has turned
   out.

Geddy once said that Rush probably wouldn't do an album of instrumentals
because they needed to complain about what was wrong in the world. My
friends, with Trump at the Helm, the world is at last headed in the right
   direction. As God intended. There'
s no longer any reason for Rush to complain, or even to continue on...so they
quit and are now relaxing, though occasionally (like yours truly) getting
ticked off about the wibwoos on CNN, or MSNBC, or in the fields of so-called
   "science" and "litriture."
But aside from that, these are some content old dudes, eating their pizzas,
pastries, and drinkin their Bud Lite's.
