Dude, seriously -- doing this only hurts your credit rating. Pay off the
amount as of your last closing date while still making purchases during your
current billing cycle. This will give your creditors some meaningful
   statistics to work with.

   THINK (oops, sorry) about this...

If you were to keep your musclecar out of sight in the garage, you could not
reasonably expect people to be awestruck by it. You have to drive it around
a little conspicuously, make people aware of it. Keeping it hidding won't
give you positive reputation points one bit.

In the same exact way, you want to give your creditors some meaningful
indications that you can hold a positive balance and still be well within
your credit limit month by month. THAT is how you "drive your balance
around" so to speak. Creditors want to know that they can make some money
from your business with them while still showing that you are a good credit
risk. A continuous negative-balance tells them *nothing* useful, and they
will not raise your rating. You will be as invisible to them as the car
that you mothball in a closed garage.

   Clear?
