   Ah, I get it. I misinterpreted that it was that mix of people in your own   
   friendslist that caused the trouble. You're right, that is trickier. The   
   way I keep things like that straight is to assign sheltered friends and   
   family members to a group that doesn't see my wall, and I update them by   
   group Facebook mail which actually works very very slick. So the way it   
   works for me is, I post to my wall and it's all safe, or I go into the   
   messaging tab where I put the name of my family-friendly group into the "TO"   
   field. But I do get that these things are always YMMV so I can see it not   
   being viable for everyone.
