   Or the enemy has an aircraft carrier - the RN had several as Bismarck   
   discovered   
   Or the enemy has radar equipped cruisers to shadow you - see above   
   Or the enemy has effective maritime patrol aircraft - see above   
   Or the enemy has decent sea going destroyers as Scharhorst discovered
