You know, I've got mad love for the Dan, but I don't think this is
such an unusual observation. The first time I saw them, I left feeling
like... Why did I just spend a hundred dollars to see Don play with
that stupid little synthesizer??? The band was great... but the music
seemed to lack some soul that is present on the studio recordings. I
really wanted to see a stripped down band, with a lot more substance.
Most of all I wanted to see Don and Walt playing more. I didn't come
to see them chill on stage for an hour and change. Although that sure
   was just keen.

Last time they came around here (a few months ago)... I just couldn't
bring myself to go catch the show. And trust me, I be the #1 fan in
the greater Tampa metro area. Their live shows just don't do it for
me... to me, its the coldest most sterile sounding........

Of couse, I am a very cynical person... but you guys have to know,
they don't really want to be on that stage... If they didn't want the
bread, they'd be in hiding. You can see the look in their eyes, its
like, "get me the fuck off this god damnned stage! I hate all these
god damnned drunkin' losers". As if it takes a person of subordinate
character to actually pay 100 dollars to see them kick it on stage
with that goofy synthesizer. Which would, of course, support their
   position as the ULTIMATE cynics.

   How'm I doin' here?
