   there is no evidence that Walter Becker is anything other than the luckiest   
   human in human history aside from Ringo Starr and Gerald Ford. His singing   
   voice sounds like toad farts. His guitar work is of the senseless noodling   
   variety and necessitates    
   hiring people like Jon Herrington, Drew Zingg, Larry Carlton, Jeff Baxter   
   etceteraetceteraetceteraetcetera. If you think he ever had anything meaningful   
   to do with any chords or lyrics-- just review any or all of Fagen's solo   
   albums all of which benefit    
   enormously from the absence of Becker. Pay particular attention to Nightfly   
   which several intelligent critics have stated might be the most beautiful and   
   lyrically perfect rock album ever created. Last note: Every in every live   
   concert over the past 8    
   years the most annoying thing WB has been allowed to do (aside from every   
   guitar lick he ever plays) is a long, stupid, senseless, rambling monologue   
   introducing Cuervo Gold which literally destroys an otherwise beautiful "Hey   
   19." Go ahead Don. Fire him.   
    You can do it. Your best friend notwithstanding he is a useless, talentless,
